A Little More Missy

A whole person, not just a résumé. Heart, humor, rescued animals, and strong convictions.

Service & community care

Beyond the job title.
Still showing up.

For me, service isn't a footnote. It's another way to turn compassion into action—and to stand behind the causes and communities I care about.

♡

A few things I believe

Heart. Backbone.
Humor.

Kindness has a backbone.

You can be gentle and still stand firmly for what's right.

Every voice matters.

Especially the ones that need time and trust before speaking.

Delivery matters.

Words are important. How people feel when they hear them matters, too.

Nothing is permanent.

Not the beautiful, the boring, or the burdensome. Cherish, adapt, keep going.

Behind the projects

A Little More
Missy… ☀

I'm the bright-and-bubbly, list-making, big-feeling kind of person who wants everyone to know they're valued. I love good people, good laughs, and a good reason to roll up my sleeves.

I don't need everyone to match my energy. Some of the most rewarding connections are the ones that take time, consistency, and a little patience to build.

And when someone needs an advocate? I'm not shy about showing up. Sweet doesn't mean passive.

Hard-won experiences have strengthened my empathy, but I believe empathy must become action. I don’t aim to be an ally in name only. I work to be an accomplice in meaningful change: someone who shows up, speaks up, and helps others find their own power.

I am a mom, writer, and lifelong rescue advocate. Raising my son independently taught me resourcefulness, resilience, and how to navigate complicated systems. Every animal in my home is a rescue—Chihuahuas have a special place in my heart—and I love seeing that commitment ripple outward as people close to me choose rescue, too.

Don’t just talk the talk. Walk the walk. Live the life. And bring someone with you.
The Missy checklist ✎
☑ Show up for my people
☑ Find a reason to laugh
☑ Put the idea into action
☑ Make it meaningful and pretty
☐ Stop adding things to the to-do list

That last one may remain a work in progress. ☀

I've been called a “little ray of fucking sunshine.” The sunshine is genuine. So is the backbone. ✨

My reading life · A Little More Missy

The Books That Left Their Mark

Some books entertain you. Others rearrange the furniture in your soul.

Stories that have stayed with me, books I return to, and worlds I love getting lost in. This is a personal shelf, not a ranked list or a required-reading assignment.

Sky Full of Elephants

Cebo Campbell

This is the book I keep buying for people I meet and care about. Some stories are too meaningful to keep to yourself. I don't just recommend this one; I want to put it in someone else's hands.

Anne of Green Gables

L. M. Montgomery. My childhood favorite, and an especially meaningful place to begin this little tour through my reading life.

Books that shaped me

The classics, contemporary fiction, and nonfiction I've wanted to keep close.

Books that swept me away

Because sometimes the perfect reading experience involves magic, danger, complicated characters, and an entirely unreasonable bedtime.

I believe in personal growth, complicated heroines, and the occasional fictional world that makes me forget the laundry exists. ✦

Compassion in practice

A lifetime of loving the ones who need us.

From the early chapters to today, animals have been part of my life and my service. Rescue isn’t a photo opportunity for me. It is an enduring commitment to giving animals another chance.
