Under the name Melissa Moy, I publish poetry and creative work. Writing has always shaped how I teach, listen, communicate, and advocate. These are the real covers—no generic placeholders—and the first two hold a particularly special place for me.

An educator-centered publication concept built to elevate the perspectives, challenges, insights, and stories of those doing the work in public schools. The Kickstarter project has been approved for launch; the campaign and publication are not yet being presented as launched or released.
Purpose: thoughtful storytelling, accessible information, and authentic educator voices.
From accessible explainers to shareable, issue-based graphics, I create visual communications that help people understand what is at stake. Some pieces were made for election-era advocacy; they are presented here as historical portfolio examples, not current policy fact sheets.
Evidence over emotion. Context over headlines. An original series designed to make Michigan public education policy understandable through research, visual storytelling, and clear questions for discussion.
Featured topics include school funding, special education, the Science of Reading, attendance, educator support, and curriculum decision-making.

Shareable, voter-facing creative for the 2024 election cycle.

Turning funding conversations into approachable visual messages.

Connecting student well-being and school safety to civic action.

Communicating why access to meals matters for students and families.

A visual series on support for schools, staff, and student mental health.

Creative onboarding materials, benefits information, and resources designed to help members feel connected.
Portfolio note: historical issue graphics may contain claims or numbers specific to their original publication periods. They are examples of communications work, not automatically up-to-date guidance. Shared organization materials are shown for illustration of my contributions and collaborative work.
A selection of design, training, and communications work developed both independently and alongside talented educators, union colleagues, and community partners. I often led visual design or project coordination while working with others to shape ideas, messaging, and delivery.
Collaborated with TEA colleagues on organizational identity and member-facing communication; I led substantial visual design work, logo exploration, and presentation development.
Designed and helped develop practical training materials on relationships, influence, and collective action, informed by organizing experience and collaboration.
Created and contributed member-engagement presentations, invitation designs, and onboarding communications as part of broader team organizing efforts.
A districtwide project created with the school district and union partners representing education support professionals (including paraprofessionals) and secretarial staff. I led the visual design, coordinated ordering, and managed production details. The concept and collaboration belonged to the team.
Selected original visual samples from advocacy and educational communication projects. Other organizational training and branding projects were collaborative; the descriptions below distinguish my design contributions from the work of the wider team.

Historical issue samples are displayed as past portfolio work, not updated policy fact sheets.
My creative work extends beyond books I've authored. I also edited Walt’s Resume: Walt Disney’s Jobs Through the Years, written by my cousin Christopher W. Tremblay. It was a separate editorial contribution, not a co-authorship claim.

Writing is only one side of my literary life. From my childhood favorite Anne of Green Gables to Sky Full of Elephants, the novel I keep buying for people I love, some books have earned permanent places in my heart.
